Come Sail With Us...

In 2006 Freedom Village sloop has had its maiden voyage, and kids have enjoyed the water ever since. Students enjoy embarking on day trips aboard the Village boats, and not only are the trips tremendously fun, but the young sailors learn much about reading weather, winds and of course, the Sloop styled Sailboat.

Currently we have 4 Pearson and Catalina boat in the water. Students will take lessons on how to sail the yacht, take part in actually guiding the boat, and at the end of the lesson, receive a parallel devotional about sailing, and our Christian walks.

Testimony:

I’ve been sailing since I was 9 years old, but it was always just a hobby, just something to occupy time. After getting into trouble at 16 years old until I was 18, I realized that I needed to come to Freedom Village. During the spring at the Village, I spent my weekends working on the sailboats. I sailed all that summer, and each time I went out, I learned a new respect for the power and glory of God. Sailing humbles me in knowing that it is the God of the Universe that orchestrates the winds that powers the boat. That same God rises up and silences the storms dictating the intensity of the voyage. To me, it is a tangible way of understanding that God is all-powerful, and the center of all we do.
