How To Get Started...
Young people, parents, or guardians will begin the Intake Process by calling our toll free number; 1-800-VICTORY (1-800-842-8679)
Indicate to our phone receptionist that you wish to speak to the Intake Department.
One of our Intake Coordinators will assist you by going through a series of questions with you. You also have the opportunity to ask any questions that you may have about our program. This is what we refer to as a phone interview. All of the information you provide is recorded in a interview form that we will use to proceed to the next steps of the process.
If the young person is serious about coming to Freedom Village, an intake interview date will be set and we will confirm with the parent or guardian the appointment date.
The young person will arrive at Freedom Village on the assigned intake interview date where they will meet. The parents or guardians and the young person will be provided with a tour, watch a welcome video and proceed to complete the intake interview with one of our intake staff.
Because Freedom Village is a volunteer program, we will ask for a verbal agreement from the young person that they wish to attend our program. Based on the outcome of the interview with the parent or guardians and the young person, the intake staff will offer placement in our program or identify to all concerned that the young person is not ready for our program.
If the young person is offered a placement, they will enter the program immediately. If the decision is made that the young person is not ready for our program, we ask that they keep in touch with the Intake Coordinator to rebook an interview when circumstances are more favorable for placement.
A complete and comprehensive package will be sent to the parent or guardian of the young person. A copy of the application form can also be printed from our websit after completing a phone interview. Once the package has been completed in full and all the information and requirements have been fulfilled (medical reports, parental consent etc.) we ask that the parent or guardian call the Intake Coordinator to let us know the young person is prepared and ready to have an intake date set, when a bed becomes available.
